Where does the trip start and end? The 4 hr float trip starts with a short bus ride up the river where you and your cooler will meet up with your tube on the beach entry point and you will float back to the Tiki Tubing beach where your car is.
The river is smooth and slow moving and is 1 to 3 feet deep with a few deeper holes from 6 to 8 feet deep. There is also a sand bar at every curve.
All bodies of water have some inherent risks. Tiki Tubing L.L.C. and its affiliates assume no liability for personal injury or loss of personal property. You will be required to sign a waiver for each activity. Minors must have this form signed by a parent or legal guardian. If you have a medical condition you are concerned about, you should consult your physician before your trip.
What happens if I fall out of my tube? We provide life jackets if you want one. If you do fall out of your tube you should try to get back on as quickly as possible but many times you will be able to stand up and get back on. You can also hang on to your tube and paddle over to the shore where it may be easier to get back on your tube.
What happens if I pop my tube? In the unfortunate and unlikely event that your tube pops, please don't leave any deflated tubes in the river. Bring them with you to your pickup point and you won't be held responsible for damaging it.
Do the trips take exactly 4 hours? The trip times will vary and are influenced by the wind direction and water level and can take much longer if you stop on sand bars to enjoy the beauty of the river and it's surroundings.
How will I know when to exit the river? To begin your trip we take you to an entry point up river and you will float down and exit at the Tiki Tubing beach where it will be easy to recognize with all the fun going on and the exit signs posted on the beach. You'll also see our trailers full of tubes.
Can I bring my own cooler and refreshments? Yes, you can bring your own cooler and refreshments. If you would like, we rent cooler floats to keep your cooler from tipping over. We also rent coolers, sell ice and have a store for sunglasses, lotion etc.
What kinds of things should we not bring? We ask that you please leave your pets at home and please don't bring any glass or styrofoam containers. Leave your rings, jewelry and other valuables at home also. Waterproof disposable cameras are available in our river shop and they take excellent photos. We suggest you not take expensive cameras on the river. If you are tubing, we have water bags for your cell phone, cigarettes, wallet, pocket book etc.
No. Bare feet will be just fine but water shoes would provide more protection for your feet.
Yes you can, just please drink responsibly and don't bring any glass or styrofoam containers. This includes styrofoam coolers because they tend to break and not hold up to river use. We want you to bag all your trash in the mesh trash bags that are sent along with you so the river stays beautiful.
Do you sell ice at Tiki Tubing? Yes we do sell ice, we also sell many other items that you may need like sun tan lotion, water proof bags for you valuables, waterproof cameras, floating sun glass straps, and many other items.
What kind of animals are in or near the river? The river is a natural environment to many animals. It's not uncommon to see fish, turtles, frogs, and on rare occasions a non-poisonous water snake. We have never had any type of bad interaction with an animal on any of our float trips. Wild animals are very wary and try to avoid humans whenever possible. If you use caution and and avoid close contact you will be fine.
What happens if there is a storm? During the summertime it is common to have afternoon thunderstorms. The odds of being struck by lightning are very low. No one has ever been struck by lightning while tubing with us, but you should be cautious as it isn't impossible for it to happen. To limit the possibility of being struck, we recommend several courses of action. First get out of the water and onto the shore. Also look around you. You should not stand near the highest object in the area. Once on land don't stand next to any large trees. Find some smaller trees or sit in in a clearing. The storm will pass. Then you can finish your tubing trip.
Why should I go on a tube floating trip with Tiki Tubing? Because you'll have the time of your life. We are easy to get to and have plenty of parking. Our beach is nice and clean and we have state of the art PVC vinyl tubes with handles and even have ones with bottoms if you want. The water is not too deep in most places and travels at a very nice leisurely comfortable relaxing pace. You can bring your own refreshments and have a family picnic right on the water. It's a great family activity that's very relaxing and easily enjoyed by the young and old alike.
What type of payment do you accept? We accept cash and all major credit cards. We accept Master Card, Visa and American Express. We're sorry we cannot accept personal checks. |
